Bahrain National Day is the one message a year that goes to everyone: the family group, the school parents, the office, the clients. On Wednesday, 16 December 2026, the kingdom marks its 55th National Day, fifty-five years since independence, with the holiday running into the 17th.
This post gives you the lines: the two Arabic greetings everyone uses, with transliteration and meaning, English wishes for family, friends, colleagues, employees, clients and teachers, a few quotes, a WhatsApp status, and a card that dives for the pearls. The card is free to build and sends as one link.
When is Bahrain National Day 2026?
| Date | Wednesday, 16 December 2026 |
| Edition | 55th National Day (1971 to 2026) |
| Public holiday | 16 and 17 December 2026 |
| 17 December | The accession of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa |
| The flag | Red, with a white band of five points for the five pillars of Islam |
Manama lights its towers in red and white for the week, the Bahrain Bay fireworks go up on the 16th, and the souq fills with flags and National Day thobes. The greeting goes out the evening before.
The two Arabic greetings
You need one of these at the top of any message, even an English one.
| Arabic | Said | Means | Use it for |
|---|---|---|---|
| كل عام والبحرين بخير | Kul aam wal Bahrain bikhair | May Bahrain be well every year | The warm one. Family, friends, a status. |
| عيد وطني مجيد | Eid Watani Majeed | A glorious National Day | The formal one. Clients, elders, a company card. |
| كل عام وأنتم بخير | Kul aam wa antum bikhair | May you be well every year | Said back, or added after the first line. |
| دام عزك يا بحرين | Daam izzik ya Bahrain | May your glory last, Bahrain | A line of pride, often on a status or a poster. |
| خمس نقاط، مملكة واحدة | Khams niqat, mamlaka wahida | Five points, one kingdom | The flag itself. Works as a headline. |
Two more, for the sign-off: بالفخر (bil fakhr, with pride) and من قلوبنا (min quloobna, from our hearts).

Short lines for a WhatsApp status
- 🇧🇭 كل عام والبحرين بخير
- 55 years. Five points. One kingdom. 🇧🇭
- عيد وطني مجيد 🇧🇭
- Proud today, every day. Happy National Day Bahrain.
- 1971 → 2026. Fifty-five years, built like a pearl.
- Red and white. Home. 🇧🇭

A few lines that work as quotes on a poster: Five points, one kingdom. A pearl is made one layer at a time; so is a country. Fifty-five years, and the flag still goes up first.
The Pearl Dive: a card that finds the five pearls
Words go further when the card does something. The Pearl Dive on MomentoCard is a Bahrain National Day card the receiver plays through:
- The dive. A dhow at dawn on the Gulf, its sail the red and white flag, Manama on the horizon. Tap, and the camera goes under: light rays, coral, a school of fish, and five oysters on the sand.
- The oysters. Each tap opens one on a pearl and one of your photos in a pearl locket, with its name under it. A thread joins the pearls as they open. Oysters without a photo hold a landmark (the World Trade Center, Al Fateh Mosque, Qal'at al-Bahrain, the Tree of Life, Bab Al Bahrain).
- The necklace. The five pearls rise to the surface and take their places in the 55 that forms in pearl over the dhow, while Manama lights up across the bay. A tap sets off fireworks in red and white.
- The shell. A great oyster opens, a pearl at its hinge, on the greeting: your logo or name, the headline in Arabic and English (you choose which leads), your message, an Arabic message if you want one, and the sign-off.
Sent on WhatsApp, it plays by itself; if the receiver taps, they play it. Prompts can be set to Arabic. Every field accepts Arabic. It is free to build and preview, and sends as one private link that opens in any browser.

For a company that sends one greeting to everyone, the same card takes a logo and a formal message; pair it with the UAE National Day card two weeks earlier and the Corporate Eid card for the rest of the year.
