UAE National Day is the one message a year that goes to everyone: the family group, the school parents, the office, the clients. On Tuesday, 2 December 2026, the country marks its 55th Eid Al Etihad, fifty-five years since the seven emirates united, and this year falls in the UAE's Year of Family.
This post gives you the lines: the two Arabic greetings everyone uses, with transliteration and meaning, English wishes for family, friends, colleagues, employees, clients and teachers, a few quotes, a WhatsApp status, and a card that plays the seven emirates lighting up one by one. The card is free to build and sends as one link.
When is UAE National Day 2026?
| Date | Tuesday, 2 December 2026 |
| Edition | 55th Eid Al Etihad (1971 to 2026) |
| Public holiday | 2 and 3 December 2026 |
| Theme | Year of Family: families, generations, shared memories |
| Official name | Eid Al Etihad, the Festival of the Union (since 2023) |
The name changed in 2023, the day did not. In conversation it is still National Day; on a card, Eid Al Etihad reads well in either language and gives you the Arabic headline for free.
The two Arabic greetings
You need one of these at the top of any message, even an English one.
| Arabic | Said | Means | Use it for |
|---|---|---|---|
| عيد اتحاد سعيد | Eid Etihad Saeed | Happy Union Day | The direct greeting. Any message, any audience. |
| كل عام والإمارات بخير | Kul aam wal Emarat bikhair | May the Emirates be well every year | The warmer one. Family, friends, a status. |
| عيد اتحاد مبارك | Eid Etihad Mubarak | Blessed Union Day | Formal: clients, elders, a company card. |
| دام عزك يا وطن | Daam izzak ya watan | May your glory last, homeland | A line of pride, often on a status or a poster. |
| سبع إمارات، قلب واحد | Sab' imarat, qalb wahid | Seven emirates, one heart | The union itself. Works as a headline. |
Two more, for the sign-off: بالفخر (bil fakhr, with pride) and من قلوبنا (min quloobna, from our hearts).

Spirit of the Union: a card that plays the seven emirates
Words go further when the card does something. Spirit of the Union on MomentoCard is a UAE National Day card the receiver plays through:
- Seven stars hang over the Gulf at night, one per emirate. Each tap lights a star, raises a landmark out of the water under it (the Grand Mosque, Burj Khalifa, Al Noor Mosque, Ajman Fort, the old watchtower of Umm Al Quwain, Jebel Jais, Fujairah Fort) and joins it to the last with a gold line, until the seven are one.
- The colours of the flag sweep across the sky as four silk ribbons while the 55 rises in gold. A tap sets off fireworks in red, green and white.
- The Year of Family wall: up to four of your photos pinned up with a caption each, family, team or school.
- The greeting: your logo or name, the headline in Arabic and English (you choose which leads), your message, an Arabic message if you want one, and the sign-off, with fireworks over the skyline.
Sent on WhatsApp, it plays by itself; if the receiver taps, they play it. Prompts can be set to Arabic. Every field accepts Arabic. It is free to build and preview, and sends as one private link that opens in any browser.

For a company that sends one greeting to everyone, the same card takes a logo and a formal message; pair it with the Corporate Eid card for the other company-wide Arabic greeting of the year.
When to send it
| Who | When |
|---|---|
| Family and friends | Evening of 1 December, or the morning of the 2nd |
