Rewind — A Year-Ending Story
A cinematic year-end recap card on black. A clock whose numerals are months is given one flick and spins to a stop on the month you choose, a tick on every month that passes; the chosen month lights gold and zooms in three steps until the screen is gold, and the gold fades to a 35 mm negative film strip running slowly across the screen — one frame per month from January, with your photo and a handwritten caption for each, every photo coming up to colour as it passes the centre, a blinking REWIND and a running timecode. Three black pages are typed on, one line each ("Years change. Routes change. The people who stay don't." or your own words), and the black warms to midnight blue for your wish, the recipient's name, an optional closing photo and your signature. Then a contact sheet lays out every frame of the year in colour, one after another, and the leader counts down 3, 2, 1 into the next year with your closing line. Three optional taps that play by themselves in the video. Film grain and light leaks, drawn in CSS. Silent by default; add a track from the library if you want one. Designed for 9:16 and recomposed for 16:9. The film is as long as your year: about a minute to September, a little more to December.
