Wedding Invitation Maker — One Shaadi Card for Every Function
A shaadi card has a harder job than any other invitation. It has to carry four or five functions with different dates and venues, name two families in the right order, read well in Hindi and English, and reach the cousin in Toronto the same evening it reaches the neighbour. This guide covers how to make one online, what to write, and how to share it — in that order.
The short answer
To make a wedding invitation online for an Indian wedding, open MomentoCard's shaadi card maker (momentocard.app/shaadi-card-maker), add the couple's names and the family line, fill in the date, time and venue of each function — Haldi, Mehndi, Sangeet, Shaadi, Reception — and leave blank any you are not hosting. Add one or two photos, a Google Maps link and your WhatsApp number for RSVPs, then share the generated link. Each function plays as its own scene, the card opens with Ganesh ji's shlok, every field accepts Hindi or English, and relatives abroad open the same link instantly. It is free and needs no sign-up.
Sab functions, ek card
Haldi, Mehndi, Sangeet, Shaadi and Reception each have their own date, time and venue inside their own scene. A printed card squeezes all of that into one block of text; here each guest is walked through the week, function by function.
Family names the way elders expect
The family line is a free field, so you can write it the traditional way — 'Shri Ramesh & Smt. Sunita Sharma request the pleasure of your company at the wedding of their daughter Priya' — or the modern 'Together with their families'. Grandparents' blessings, 'Chiranjeevi' and 'Sau. Kan.' all fit.
Hindi, English ya dono
Devanagari renders in every field, including the opening shlok. Many families write the invitation line in Hindi (आप सादर आमंत्रित हैं) and the schedule in English so that every generation can read it.
WhatsApp se NRI rishtedaaron tak
The card is a link. Send it on the family group, to broadcast lists and to relatives in the US, UK, Dubai or Australia — no courier, no customs, and the one-tap WhatsApp RSVP brings their reply straight to your phone.

Shaadi card online kaise banaye — 4 steps
- 1
Open the shaadi card maker
Go to momentocard.app/shaadi-card-maker and open the Royal Shaadi Invite. No account is needed; the editor opens with sample names you replace.
- 2
Names, family line and functions
Add the bride's and groom's names, write the family line in Hindi or English, then fill in each function's date, time and venue. Leave a function blank to skip it — a two-function card is as clean as a five-function one.
- 3
Photos, map and RSVP
Upload one or two couple photos, paste the Google Maps link of the main venue, and add the WhatsApp number that should receive RSVPs with a prefilled reply such as 'Shaadi mein zaroor aayenge'.
- 4
Share one link
Copy the link and send it on WhatsApp — family groups, broadcast lists, and individually to elders. The same link works in every country and updates if you edit it later.
Frequently asked questions
What should a wedding invitation say?
Six things, in this order: who is inviting (the family line), whose wedding it is (both names), each function with its date and start time, the venue with a full address or map link, the RSVP contact, and a closing line. Many Indian families open with a shlok or 'Shubh Vivah' and add 'With the blessings of' the grandparents. Keep each function to one line; the card does the rest.
Whose name comes first on a shaadi card?
Traditionally the hosting family's name appears first, and the card is written from their side: the bride's parents invite guests to the wedding of their daughter with the groom, naming his parents after him. Joint cards from both families use 'Together with their families' and list the bride first. Either is correct; choose what both families are comfortable with and keep it consistent across functions.
When should I send a wedding invitation?
Send the link four to six weeks before the first function so guests can plan travel, and eight weeks or more for relatives abroad. Send a short reminder on the family group a week before the Haldi. Because the card is a link, a late change in venue or timing needs no re-send — edit it and the same link updates.
How do I add the venue map and collect RSVPs?
Paste a Google Maps link in the map field and the card shows a directions button; add your WhatsApp number and a prefilled reply in the RSVP fields and guests confirm with one tap. Both are optional — leave either blank and that button is left out.
Can I make the card in Hindi?
Yes. Every field accepts Hindi, Hinglish or English, including the opening shlok and the family line. A common pattern is Hindi for the invitation line and the blessings, and English for the schedule.
