Momento Studio has 15 animated wedding invitation templates, and the fastest way to choose is by function. Haldi gets the turmeric-yellow card, mehndi gets the henna-green one, the sangeet and the main ceremony share the red-and-gold shaadi card, the save-the-date takes your photo, and the engagement has its own square. All fifteen are free to open and edit without signing up, and the names, dates and venue are the only layers you need to touch.
The templates themselves live on the wedding invitation templates page, where each one opens in the editor with a tap. This guide is the part that page cannot do: which card belongs to which day, what to write on it, which size to export, and how to get it to three hundred people without losing the music.
The 15 templates at a glance
| Template | Size | Best for |

| Royal Burgundy | 4:5 | Reception, a velvet-and-gold evening |

| Wedding Invite | 4:5 | A plain, all-purpose card |
Twelve are 4:5, two are squares and one is a 9:16 story. If you want a matching set, pick one of the first two as the anchor and use Haldi, Mehndi and Royal Burgundy around it: they share the same gold and the same type.
Haldi
Use Haldi Ceremony. Turmeric yellow, marigold strings that sway, a small brass bowl, and the function name set large. It is the card people photograph the room against, so keep it bright.
Write the time generously. Haldi starts late in most families; "11 am onwards" reads better than "11:00 am sharp". If the haldi is at the house and the main ceremony is at a venue, put the house address here and nowhere else, and say "family and close friends" so no one who was not invited wonders.
Before you send
Change the marigold colour to orange if the mehndi card is going to be green and the shaadi card red. Yellow, green, red, gold: the week reads as four days of one wedding.
Mehndi
Use Mehndi Ceremony. Henna green, a paisley border that draws itself, and a hand motif. It is the one card that is usually only for the bride's side, so the guest list is short and the tone can be lighter.
Two lines that belong on a mehndi card and nowhere else: who is applying the mehndi, if there is a known artist, and a dress colour if there is one. "Wear green" saves forty messages.
Sangeet
Use the Traditional Shaadi Card retitled, or Royal Burgundy. Sangeet is the party, and the burgundy card, with its velvet ground and gold type, looks like a party. If the main card is the traditional red-and-gold one, the burgundy card is close enough in gold to sit next to it.
Put the performance order on the second page if you add one. Families that plan a sangeet want to know when they are on.
The main shaadi card
Use the Traditional Shaadi Card or the Royal Couple Card. Both have the kalash, the toran, the ganesh motif and a Hindi blessing line already in place, and both animate the marigolds and the diyas. The couple card adds an illustrated bride and groom; the traditional card leaves that space for the names.
The main card carries the most text, so it is the one to get right:
- The blessing line at the top (keep the Hindi, or write your own: "Shubh Vivah", "With the blessings of…").
- The bride's name and the groom's name, each with the parents' names below.
- The ceremony date and the muhurat time.
- The venue with a line of address, and a map link in the caption when you share.
- The family names at the bottom, with "RSVP" and one phone number.
For a hill wedding, Pahadi Shaadi Story is the same card as a 9:16 story with mountains and a dhol beat, made for status and Instagram.
Christian and civil ceremonies
Pastel Floral Invite and Minimal Ivory have no religious motifs. Change the blessing line to "Together with their families" and the card is ready for a church or a registry.
Save the date and engagement
Months ahead, use Save the Date Photo with the one photo you both like, the date and the city, and nothing else. The venue can wait; the point is to block the weekend.
The three-page Save the Date Story does the same thing as a tiny film: page one asks, page two answers, page three shows the date. It is the better choice for Instagram, where a single still gets scrolled past.
For the engagement or roka, Engagement Bubbly is a square with champagne bubbles rising, and Engagement Trio tells it in three pages: the ring, the yes, the date. Squares fill a WhatsApp preview and an Instagram post equally well.
Reception and the family-only card
The reception card is usually the one sent to colleagues and the wider circle, so it should be the most formal and the least detailed. Royal Burgundy with the couple's names, "Reception", the date, the time and the venue is enough. Leave the parents' names on the main card.
For the family-only card, the one that goes to the forty people who come to everything, use the main card and add a second page with the full schedule: haldi, mehndi, sangeet, baraat, pheras, vidaai, reception, each with a time. Studio lets you add pages on the timeline, and the schedule page saves the family group three days of questions.
Wording that survives forwarding
A digital invitation is forwarded far more than it is opened from the original link. Someone screenshots it, someone saves the GIF, someone pastes it into a group with no caption. Write for that:
- Put the function, date, time and venue in the text layers, not only in a decorative image. Screenshots keep text; links to maps do not.
- One phone number, not three. Pick the person who will answer.
- Spell the venue the way Google Maps spells it, so the person who searches it finds it.
- Keep the blessing line short. "Shubh Vivah" or "With the blessings of our elders" is enough; the long Sanskrit shloka is for the printed card.
English and Hindi samples, ready to paste, are in the wedding invitation wording guide. For how far ahead to send each card and who gets which one, see digital wedding invitations in 2026.
Sizes, exports and sending
| Where it is going | Export | Why |
|---|---|---|
| WhatsApp, one person | Share the link | The animation and the song play in the browser; the chat shows a preview |
| WhatsApp family group | GIF | Plays inside the chat with no tap, forwards cleanly |
| WhatsApp status, Instagram story | MP4 from the 9:16 story | Full height, with music |
| Instagram post | MP4 or PNG from a 4:5 card | Fills the feed without cropping |
| PNG, plus the link in the body | Mail clients strip motion | |
| PNG from a 4:5 card | 1080 by 1350 prints at 4 by 5 inches; scale up in Studio for larger |
The link is the one that keeps the music. When in doubt, send the link first and the GIF second.
How to make one in five minutes
- Open the template for the function from the wedding templates page. The animation is already set.
- Tap each text layer and retype it: the names, the date block, the venue, the RSVP line. Add the photo if the card has a frame.
- Pick the song from the library or upload the couple's song. Set when it starts on the timeline.
- Add a schedule page if this is the family card.
- Share the link, or export GIF, MP4 or PNG. A Pro template unlocks once for ₹19 ($1.99) at this step and stays yours for the rest of the week's cards.
Before you send
Make the main card first and save the project. Duplicate it for the haldi, mehndi and reception and change only the function name, the date and the colour. The type, the names and the family lines stay consistent across the set.
Studio template or 3D wedding card?
MomentoCard has both, and couples often use both.
| Studio template | 3D wedding card | |
|---|---|---|
| What you get | An editable design: every word, photo, colour and page | A finished interactive card you fill in |
| Time | 5 to 10 minutes per card | Under a minute |
| Output | MP4, GIF, PNG or a link | A link, with a video export |
| Best for | The group invite, the printed card, the set for the whole week | The close-family card that opens, plays and surprises |
| Where | Wedding invitation templates | 3D wedding invitations and the shaadi card maker |
A sensible split: the Studio card goes to the three hundred, the 3D card goes to the thirty who should get something that opens like a gift.
